Job Overview – Medical Assistant (Temporary)
Compensation: $23/hour
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Medical Assistant (Temporary) in Brooklyn, NY for our client, supporting patient care, clinical operations, and medical office functions within a busy specialty healthcare practice. This temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working directly with patients and providers in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant (Temporary):
  • Patient Intake: Welcome patients, obtain medical histories, verify demographic information, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Clinical Support: Assist providers during patient visits, examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
  • Documentation: Accurately record patient information, clinical notes, treatment details, and test results within the medical record.
  • Laboratory Assistance: Collect and prepare specimens, perform basic in-office testing, and support clinical diagnostic activities.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain medical supplies, monitor inventory levels, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Patient Education: Provide instructions regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed by providers.

Qualifications for the Medical Assistant (Temporary):
  • Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare-related education or training is required.
  • Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or a similar healthcare credential is required.
  • Experience: Previous Medical Assistant experience within a physician practice, outpatient clinic, or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of patient intake procedures, clinical workflows, infection control practices, and HIPAA requirements is required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred. Experience with Epic or similar EMR platforms is a plus.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong patient service, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team are required.
