Summary of Position:

The Medical Director is a key physician leader at Eisner Health, providing clinical leadership and direction for a team of physicians and advanced practice providers while maintaining an active direct patient care practice. This role is responsible for advancing clinical quality, patient safety, provider performance and engagement, while building a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and exceptional patient care.

Working in close partnership with operational and organizational leaders, the Medical Director helps shape how care is delivered, using data to drive improvement, strengthening team-based care, developing and supporting clinicians, and championing clinical quality and practice transformation initiatives. The Medical Director serves as the clinical voice of the department and an important bridge between frontline providers and organizational leadership, helping ensure an environment where patients receive excellent care and clinicians and care teams can thrive.

Location: Eisner Health is hiring multiple Medical Directors as part of a newly created leadership structure. Each Medical Director will provide clinical leadership and oversight for one of the following regions/service areas: San Fernando Valley, Downtown Los Angeles – Adult Medicine, Downtown Los Angeles – Pediatrics, or East Los Angeles.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice and Leadership

• Provide high-quality direct patient care while serving as the clinical leader of the department.
• Model a patient-first attitude, professionalism, accountability, and adherence to organizational policies.
• Review and interpret departmental quality data and clinical performance measures and hold providers accountable for individual performance.
• Address clinical practice concerns and documentation deficiencies.
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, coach and develop physicians and advanced practice providers, provide performance coaching.
• Address professionalism issues, in partnership with Human Resources when appropriate.
• Support learners, continuing medical education, and professional development activities.

Clinical Quality

• Monitor provider performance on established clinical quality measures and support improvement efforts.
• Champion clinical quality initiatives, preventive care efforts, chronic disease management, and population health strategies.
• Lead clinical adoption of organizational change and practice transformation efforts.
• Partner with Quality Operations teams to identify and champion opportunities for clinical quality and performance improvement.
• Ensure care delivery aligns evidence-based practices, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
• Promote team-based care and top-of-license practice across all clinical disciplines.

Organizational and Strategic Leadership

• Partner with operational leadership (Clinic Supervisor, Manager, and Director of Operations) to support clinical management in day-to-day operations.
• Support development and implementation of clinical protocols, pathways, and best practices.
• Participate in physician recruitment, retention, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Contribute to new clinical programs, staffing plans, and departmental budgets.
• Demonstrate an innovative spirit to improve service delivery to patients.
• Represent the department within Eisner Health and externally.

Qualifications:

• Current California medical license.
• Board certification (when applicable).
• Current DEA license.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, communication, and change-management skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams using collaborative, data-driven approaches.

Compensation: $260,000-$335,000
