The Medical Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors to attend to all callers/visitors promptly. The Medical Receptionist performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically, work on routine and patterned assignments and reports to the Center Administrator.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will operate a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintain long distance call logs.
  • You will take and distribute accurate messages.
  • You will greet visitors and determine the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintain visitor logs.
  • You will alert appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee.
  • You will respond to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as our location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and email address.
  • Your additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages.
  • You will limit decisions to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and work under close guidance and within established guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

Additional Information:

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year or more of experience working in a Healthcare setting preferred, but will consider candidates with a strong Customer Service background in Retail Hospitality, Call Centers, etc.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences and care
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Value-based care model experience
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Experience with EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records)

Medical Receptionist Working hours:

Scheduled 40 hours per week

Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM

Local travel may be required; Mileage is reimbursed

This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$38,000 - $45,800 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
