    Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on people's lives? We are seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk!

    The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for receiving and managing external requests for medical records and ensuring that records are released in accordance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines. The Clerk is responsible for timely responses to record requests and for maintaining accurate logs of request receipt and response dates.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor all inbound requests for records through a variety of sources including fax, mail, email and telephonic.
    • Track all requests in tracking log, accurately capturing date/type of request.
    • Ensure that appropriate consent and releases are received prior to releasing any records- observing all HIPAA standards.
    • Pull records from Valant or legacy system and prepare for clinical or other review before submitting to requestor and prepare for submission.
    • Consult with Clinic Director as needed before releasing any clinical information to clients or third parties.
    • Consult with market leader or compliance regarding any concerns re: consents, requests etc.
    • Ensuring timely response to all records requests.
    • Ensure billing occurs for all requests according to company and state policies.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Posses’ strong computer skills and the ability to use multiple systems, i.e. – Microsoft Teams, email
    • High multitasking skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Experience managing medical records requests
