Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Scribe – Clinical Documentation & Order Entry Support to join our team. This role provides high-level clinical documentation and order entry support shared between two primary hematology physicians. Candidates act as a direct workflow partner, ensuring charting accuracy and clinic efficiency during an active Epic transition.
Job Description
- Real-Time Documentation: Accompany physicians into patient encounters to capture live clinical charting and dictations accurately.
- Order Entry Support: Transcribe and enter laboratory, imaging, medication, and clinical orders directly into the Epic EHR exactly as directed by providers.
- Workflow Optimization: Assist with maintaining charting standards, Smart Phrases, and clinic efficiency during the department's Epic transition phase.
- Information Coordination: Track and manage patient communication need to ensure compliant, accurate, and timely chart completion.
Skills Required
- Prior medical scribe experience is required.
- Experience in hematology, oncology, or another complex outpatient specialty is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Epic EHR workflows is highly preferred.
- Excellent medical documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment with exceptional attention to detail.
- Candidates with advanced Epic experience, chart auditing, template optimization, or scribe training experience are encouraged to apply.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Certifications: Professional scribe credentials (CMSS, AMSS, CMSA) or Medical Assistant certifications (CCMA, CMA) are highly preferred and a must for elite level submissions.
Additional requirements
- Schedule: Part-time, 8 hours per week.
- Monday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM or 8:30 AM–12:30 PM;
- Wednesday: 1:00 PM–5:00 PM. No on-call or weekend requirements.
- Dress Code: Business Casual
