Job Description:


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, no call requirement


+ Coordinates the appointment, reappointment, and privileging processes for medical staff, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant credentialing activities.

+ Reviews and verifies requests for additional physician privileges , documents competency, and develops draft privileging criteria when none exist.

+ Maintains expert knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations , serving as a resource to physicians and hospital personnel on medical staff governance matters.

+ Manages and updates the Medical Staff database , distributes monthly privilege and staff updates, and authorizes access to hospital computerized systems.

+ Acts as a liaison between medical staff leadership and providers , researching issues, gathering information, and coordinating key communications, meetings, and monthly medical staff calendars.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Computer literacy including proficiency in Credentialing Software, Word, Windows, and database management.

• Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with a variety of professionals with a customer service outlook.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.

• Knowledge of primary source verification processes and procedures.

• Knowledge of Bylaws, Rules and Regulations to serve as a resource person to the medical staff and hospital departments.

• Customer service and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and manage time efficiently and effectively.


Education:

• Associate [Preferred]

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]


Field of Study:

• in business, healthcare or related field

• in healthcare or related field


Work Experience:

• 2+ administrative support in a healthcare setting [Required]

• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) [Preferred]
