Shift: 6:38 AM - 7:15 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

An interview may not be available prior to offer. Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Must have strong IV start skills. Must be able to read and interpret telemetry. Experience with cardiac drips is required; travelers without this experience may be sent because resources are available to help.
Required Credentials: A Relias EKG exam will be taken prior to orientation start.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Tracheostomy experience would be nice but is not required.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Daily parking costs $15+/day; monthly parking passes for on- and off-campus garages and lots range from $95 - $120. PTO cannot be accepted from 12/10 through the first week in January.
Unit Details: High-demand, high-acuity unit. Pulmonary patients include cystic fibrosis (only on this floor and 24T), pneumonia, and liver patient overflow. Sickle cell patients have high-demand pain management needs, including q1h pain medications. Geriatric patients have active illness and high fall risk; Med-Surg patients have high needs and high demands. RNs are required to titrate drips; common titratable or set-rate therapies include heparin, amiodarone, and blood transfusions. Monitor techs are on a different unit. The unit uses nasal cannula, CPAP and BiPAP home regimens and has occasional tracheostomies.
Shift & Scheduling: The manager creates the schedule; self-scheduling is not available, and candidates must be flexible. Every other weekend is required. Holiday coverage follows the core staff rotation; flexibility is requested to fill coverage needs. No call.
Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float. Will float to other Med-Surg acuity areas.
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days. Maximum consecutive days off: 5
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
