Location: Fully Remote – Anywhere in the US
Pay Rate: $100/hr W2
Duration: 6 months 
Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours; approximately 5–15 hours per week during assigned coverage periods.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced physician to review medical records of injured claimants, assess medical conditions and life expectancy, and determine mortality risk for annuity pricing. This is a fully remote, case-based role with no bedside duties or direct patient meetings.

Responsibilities:

• Independently underwrite complex applications and make final decisions within established approval guidelines.

• Review medical records and assign mortality debits based on medical underwriting manuals, professional judgment, and validated research.

• Participate in quarterly peer reviews and recommend improvements to underwriting policies and procedures.

• Conduct medical research on specific injuries, impairments, and medical conditions as required.

• Perform periodic audits of sold cases to ensure consistent underwriting evaluations.

• Consult with other medical underwriters on complex cases and provide clinical recommendations.

Schedule & Work Arrangement:

• Fully remote, open to candidates anywhere in the US.

• Flexible working hours with no fixed time zone requirements.

• Work is assigned on an as-needed basis; there are no guaranteed weekly hours.

• Coverage is typically one week on and one week off, shared with another physician.

• Estimated workload is 5–15 hours per week during coverage periods.

Ideal Candidate:

• Licensed physician with strong clinical judgment and medical record review experience.

• Experience in medical underwriting, mortality assessment, life expectancy evaluation, or insurance risk assessment is preferred.

• Ability to independently assess complex medical cases and apply evidence-based guidelines.
