WHAT YOU'LL DO
In this role, you will:
- Diagnose — identify mechanical, electrical, and powertrain issues on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and buses using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair — perform hands-on repairs to diesel engines, powertrains, electrical systems, and related components following manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain — conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to keep fleet vehicles operating safely and efficiently.
- Document — accurately complete repair orders, warranty documentation, and labor operation records in accordance with manufacturer policies and procedures.
- Inspect — perform thorough pre- and post-repair inspections to verify quality and safety of all work performed.
- Collaborate — work alongside fellow technicians and service advisors to deliver timely, high-quality results for our customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- At least one year of hands-on experience as a diesel technician — dealership or fleet experience preferred.
- Michigan State Certifications in Heavy Duty Truck (Trainee Permit accepted).
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance, powertrains, and electrical systems.
- Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail.
- Good verbal, written, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated good character and work ethic.
- Ability to follow manufacturer's policies and procedures for labor operations, time, and repair order documentation when performing warranty repairs.
- Must possess your own tools.
- Chauffeur's License required (CDL a plus).
- Must be able to reliably commute to one of our Southeast Michigan locations — on-site position.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- ASE, Navistar, or Cummins Certifications.
- Previous dealership or fleet maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with International Trucks diagnostic systems or platforms such as ServiceMaxx.
