Position Summary:
The Mental Health Worker provides care to patients in a manger that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment. Assists patients with activities; attends to the patient behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed. A Mental Health Worker should be compassionate and very patient. Must be even-tempered, can solve crisis and work as a team member.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate groups and activities as scheduled
Provides crisis intervention/assistance as needed
Completes documentation requirements
Observe and communicate any changes of condition or behavior to the appropriate charge nurse and nursing supervisor
Provide 1:1 counseling sessions with residents as behavioral needs require
Assists with monitoring floor/hallways, and 1:1 monitoring as needed
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
At least one year of previous work with mental health experience is desired
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred

Salary: $24.00/hr*
