We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled MEP Assistant Project Manager to join our team. The MEP Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in the coordination and management of MEP systems throughout all phases of a project. This role requires a solid understanding of MEP construction, project management processes, and the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of MEP construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Assist in reviewing and interpreting Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Fire Alarm drawings, specifications, and submission requirements.
- Support the Project Manager in identifying potential coordination issues, scope gaps, constructability concerns, and conflicts between MEP systems and architectural or structural components.
- Assist with coordination between MEP design consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field installation teams.
- Support the management of RFIs, submittals, equipment schedules, material lead times, change orders, and other MEP project documentation.
- Assist with project forecasting, budgets, schedules, and scope tracking through project management software.
- Participate in MEP coordination meetings, prepare meeting minutes, track action items, and follow up on outstanding issues and resolutions.
- Assist with the development of MEP bid packages and procurement of proposals in accordance with client policies and procurement requirements.
- Support client and stakeholder communication throughout the project, including progress updates and coordination related to MEP systems.
- Assist in identifying potential project risks, including system outages, shutdowns, sequencing issues, and existing-condition conflicts, and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, including phased MEP implementation plans that accommodate active building operations and minimize disruptions.
- Conduct site visits and assist with field verification of existing MEP conditions, installation progress, and coordination requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation and ensure timely distribution of project information to relevant stakeholders.
- Support the Project Manager with overall project coordination, administration, and successful execution of MEP-related scopes.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and the ability to review and comprehend MEP construction drawings and reports.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented work ethic.
- Ability to identify coordination issues and contribute to practical solutions related to MEP systems and project implementation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with MEP coordination software such as Navisworks or Revit is a plus.
- Ability to understand the integration of MEP systems with architectural and structural components, with a focus on constructability, sequencing, and coordination.
- Ability to work effectively in active and occupied facilities where project phasing and coordination are critical.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 3–5 years of relevant construction industry experience with exposure to MEP systems and project coordination.
- Preferably experienced in healthcare, higher education, institutional, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Experience working in active or occupied facilities and coordinating MEP upgrades or renovations is a plus.

Salary: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
