Overview:
The Mission Critical MEP Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and financial performance of complex, MEP‑driven construction projects where system reliability and operational continuity are paramount. This role leads projects from early concept through commissioning and turnover, ensuring critical electrical, mechanical, controls, and low‑voltage systems are executed with precision, discipline, and an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct and support safety inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Establish and enforce rigorous quality control measures for mission‑critical MEP systems.
- Lead planning and execution of MEP‑intensive scopes, including electrical distribution, mechanical systems, controls, life safety, and low‑voltage infrastructure.
- Manage detailed phasing, sequencing, and system interdependencies to support testing, commissioning, and turnover.
- Ensure systems are installed to meet performance, redundancy, and uptime requirements.
- Maintain full accountability for project scope, schedule, and budget performance.
- Review, negotiate, and manage change orders with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Lead procurement, contracting, and performance management of MEP trade partners.
- Facilitate collaboration between design teams, owners, commissioning agents, and field leadership.
- Conduct OAC, subcontractor, and internal team meetings to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Support estimating, takeoffs, and subcontractor bid analysis for MEP scopes.
- Recommend construction methods, materials, and system layouts to optimize cost, schedule, and performance.
- Identify long‑lead equipment and critical path risks early.
- Lead and mentor Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and field teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and partnership.
- Support business development efforts and help maintain repeat client relationships.
- Drive coordination of OFE efforts and collaborate closely with owner procurement teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (i.e. civil, architectural or construction), construction management or related field.
- 5+ years project management experience in commercial construction.
- Relevant experience supporting $20+ million projects from conception to completion in diverse commercial market sectors including High-Rise, Multifamily/Student Housing, Senior Living, Large Box Industrial and Hospitality.
- Prior conceptual estimating and bidding experience in commercial construction is required.
- Knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
- Ability to understand and solve complex challenges to present alternative solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Procore, P6, Microsoft Office suite, and SharePoint.
- Proven experience implementing safety protocols with a track record of successfully implementing and enforcing safety procedures on construction sites ensuring a secure work environment for project team.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company, for this position currently or in the future.
Working Conditions:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing MEP‑intensive or mission‑critical construction projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and system turnover preferred.
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
