    Description

    Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing Superintendent

    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to oversee and coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction activities on active commercial projects. This role is responsible for managing field operations related to HVAC, electrical systems, and plumbing installations while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.


    The MEP Superintendent will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to coordinate installation activities, resolve technical challenges, and ensure seamless integration between MEP systems and other construction disciplines. This individual plays a critical role in maintaining project momentum, enforcing jobsite safety, and ensuring that complex building systems are installed and commissioned successfully.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee and coordinate daily MEP construction activities, including subcontractors, manpower, and equipment resources
    • Ensure installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems complies with project drawings, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations
    • Coordinate MEP work with civil, structural, architectural (CSA), and other project disciplines to maintain proper sequencing and avoid conflicts
    • Supervise installation of HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, piping, ductwork, cabling, and related building systems
    • Support testing, inspection, and commissioning activities to ensure systems perform according to project requirements
    • Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and communicate updates or risks to the Project Manager
    • Implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain schedule, safety, and quality standards
    • Conduct routine site safety inspections, enforce company safety policies, and promote a strong safety culture on the jobsite

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
    • 8+ years of MEP construction experience, including at least 3 years in a superintendent or field leadership role
    • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing installations
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
    • Proven leadership experience managing MEP subcontractors and field teams
    • Strong coordination skills to manage complex multi-trade construction activities
    • Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety and regulatory compliance
