Overview
MEP Technician II is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and service on the electrical - mechanical systems supporting the Data Center. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide range of building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. Educate and train other TierPoint personnel on tasks related to the mechanical-electrical systems and components. Responsible for facility electrical/mechanical systems, documentation and ongoing service and support.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - Electrical
Strong proficiency with the following:
Multi-module or single module UPS systems
Low and medium voltage switchgear
Low and medium voltage diesel generators
Raised floor or overhead bus power distribution
PLC controls and components
Exercise flexibility in challenging situations
Ability to read and analyze blueprints and construction drawings including one line diagrams
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to provide direction to Operations Technicians in absence of Management
Working knowledge of automated building control systems
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of standards, practices and procedures of installing, testing and operating electrical and mechanical equipment. Usually works with limited supervision.
Minimum Qualifications - Mechanical/Plumbing
Strong proficiency with the following:
Datacenter HVAC and related components; ie CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers and rooftop units
Plumbing/Piping and related components
PLC controls and components
Proven proficiency in the operation of 100% uptime data centers, critical facilities environment or industrial power systems
Exercise flexibility in challenging situations
Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills
Extensive experience with detailed record keeping and data entry accuracy
Ability to read and analyze blueprints and construction drawings including one-line diagrams
Working knowledge of automated building control systems
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of standards, practices and procedures of installing, testing and operating electrical and mechanical equipment. Usually works with limited supervision.
