Job Title: Metal Welder

Job Summary: The primary objective of the Metal Welder is to weld, cut, and fabricate metal components and products by using plasma cutting and hand welding equipment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job
- Welds and fabricates various products and equipment using cutting and welding techniques and equipment
- Monitors the welding process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage
- Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area daily
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Thorough understanding of welding systems and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- Eager to learn, take initiative, and leadership skills with an ownership mindset
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong time management skills
- Ability to work extended hours with little advance notice to meet project deadlines, if needed
- Must be able to audibly communicate clearly (regularly talk and hear), read at a distance and close to eyes with or without correction
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, and bending for 8-hour periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust, or dirt
