Position Summary
We are seeking MFM Sonographers across multiple levels to support the Department of Radiology in providing high-quality diagnostic obstetrical ultrasound services. Candidates will be evaluated and placed at Level I or Level II based on experience, competencies, certifications, and alignment with career ladder criteria.

Level I – MFM Sonographer
Experience: 0–3 years
Salary Range: $40.02 - $ 72.04 Hourly
Typical Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine obstetrical ultrasound examinations under physician direction and departmental protocols.
  • Review imaging requisitions to ensure exam appropriateness and collaborate with Radiologists and Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians.
  • Select appropriate ultrasound equipment and technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Assess patient and family needs while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Follow departmental quality control (QC) and Exam Data Integrity workflows.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and maintain required certifications.

Level II – MFM Senior Sonographer
Experience: 3+ years
Salary Range: $42.42 – $76.36 Hourly
Typical Responsibilities:
  • Independently perform routine and complex obstetrical ultrasound examinations and assist with challenging cases.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for sonographers, trainees, fellows, residents, and students by providing education and mentorship.
  • Coordinate daily workflow by serving as Board Runner and assisting with scheduling and operational priorities.
  • Lead or participate in quality assurance/quality improvement initiatives, equipment evaluations, and workflow optimization.
  • Troubleshoot technical, scheduling, and equipment issues while supporting efficient departmental operations.
  • Assist leadership by monitoring daily operations and serving as backup to the Assistant Chief Technologist or Manager as needed.
  • Participate in research projects, implement new equipment and imaging processes, and champion departmental initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, exceptional patient care, and high reliability communication while maintaining compliance with departmental and hospital standards.
