Job Summary
The Fixed Assets & Project Accounting Manager will be responsible for the processing of all fixed asset transactions via the Company''s BNA fixed asset software including asset purchases, disposals, retirements, transfers, and construction in process completion transactions and transfers and the reconciliation of the BNA system to the Company''s G/L. Provides supervision over the fixed asset / project coordinator. Maintain the fixed asset records in accordance with GAAP and the Company''s capitalization policy. Supervises and directs all work activities for the Project Accountant and Accounting Clerk.

- BS in Accounting or related business curriculum
- Experience with BNA fixed asset software or other stand-alone asset software programs.
- Previous experience with project accounting methodologies and self-constructed asset construction cost compilations.
- Desire and ability to lead and develop the fixed asset coordinator.
- Computer literate, including familiarity with a nationally known ERP system and the Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Determine the life and asset coding of all property transactions via the BNA fixed asset software system.
- Prepare monthly journal entries to reconcile the BNA subsidiary property records with the G/L.
- Coordinate and participate in periodic fixed asset physical inventories to verify existence of the Company''s fixed assets. Resolve asset record discrepancies and identify / resolve assets that may appear to be physically encumbered, obsolete, and or under-utilized.
- Monitor open capital projects to insure proper cost accumulation / valuation and timely completion and transfer from CIP to appropriate property account.
- Responsible for the preparation of all capital project reports for CIP (construction in process) and capital purchases for each facility.
- Responsible for the coordinating with Corporate Engineering and Plant Managers the annual corporate and plant capital budget forecast including depreciation expense forecasts for each facility.
- Responsible for the preparation of capital budget report detailing actual expenditures vs. budget / forecast amounts.
- Responsible for the calculation and application of capitalized interest in accordance with GAAP for open and completed capital projects.
- Provide supporting details for annual state property tax filings and returns.
- Assist external auditors during the year-end audit process.
- Assist with special projects, analyses and other inquiries as needed.
- Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by the CFO, Controller or Accounting Operations Manager
