Contributes to the development of organizational strategy, and supports implementation of operational plans in product engineering function.

Job Requirements

Role Statement

Take responsibility for Product Engineering team management to optimize / modify existing products for new applications, support and implement product extensions per requirements. And may cover new product development per directions from high level Engineering leaders

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operations, development engineers or other personnel.

• Maintains existing products, processes, and specifications, including modifications for new applications consisting of manufacturing techniques and economies.

• Initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality and cost while meeting customer requirements.

,

• May support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements.

,

• Team management and cross functional communication.

• Department budget management.

• Measure, analysis and report about the department performance.

,

• Allocate and balance work across direct reports, periodical review team target and subordinate performance to judge the target reallocation and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports.

,

• Mentor, develop, motivate direct reports.

,

• Effective cross function communication and process optimization.

• Other tasks assigned by management.

Key Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

• Must have a minimum bachelor's degree in engineering in minimum one of the academic disciplines mechanics, electrics or electronics.

,

• Minimum 5 years professional level engineering management experience.

• Needs a good commercial understanding.

• Strong understanding of products, technical processes, operations and logistics.

• Capability of creative, analytical and structured thinking with the ability to execute on priorities.

,,

• Ability to effectively work under pressure and to work challenging targets.

• Excellent relationship, communication skills and influencing skills.

,

• Capability to build highly motivated teams.

• Flexibility in working days and travelling.

• Fluent English skills.

What your background should look like

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
