    Hours Per Week: 40 hours 

    Hiring Range: $140,857.60 - $181,521.60 salaried 

    The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

     Responsibilities:

    Operational Management:

    • Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to policies and
    • procedures.
    • Optimize workflow processes to enhance productivity and patient safety.
    • Implement and maintain inventory control strategies to prevent stock shortages and minimize
    • waste.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations, including Board of
    • Pharmacy and DEA requirements.
    • Monitor and enforce policies related to medication storage, handling, and dispensing.

    Staff Management & Leadership:

    • Supervise and mentor pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, training programs, and competency assessments.
    • Develop staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage to meet operational demands.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that supports professional growth.

    Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:

    • Maintain compliance with accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, URAC, ACHC) and pharmacy best practices.
    • Lead audits and quality assurance initiatives to uphold patient safety and medication accuracy.
    • Ensure adherence to 340B program requirements (if applicable).

    Financial & Budgetary Responsibilities:

    • Assist in budget preparation, cost containment strategies, and revenue cycle optimization.
    • Monitor financial performance metrics, including drug costs, reimbursements, and operational expenses.
    • Identify opportunities for growth and efficiency improvements in pharmacy operations.

    Technology & Innovation:

    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of pharmacy automation and information systems.
    • Utilize data analytics to track performance, optimize workflows, and enhance patient care.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate pharmacy systems with broader hospital or health system technologies.

    Collaboration & Communication:

    • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication management.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary committees to improve medication use policies and patient safety initiatives.
    • Engage with vendors, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and payer representatives to improve access to medications and services.
    • Develops and monitors unit staffing patterns to ensure patient safety, quality care, productivity and excellent patient outcomes while meeting applicable standards. Responsible for providing leadership to personnel.
    • Interviews and selects qualified applicants for open, budgeted positions within the guidelines set forth in Human Resources polices and procedures.
    • Provides ongoing feedback to staff concerning their performance, implementing corrective action as needed and per human resource policy. Ensures performance evaluations are thorough, timely and include goal setting for each individual. Establishes systems for open communication and problem solving, encourages employee involvement in safety and health standards, hazard analysis, and performance improvement initiatives. Promotes growth and development in self and others. Develops and documents orientation and ongoing training programs for departmental personnel
    • Effectively uses KRONOS time and attendance system and other human resource information systems and processes. Effectively interprets and implements Human Resource policies and consults with Human Resources as necessary. Encourages and supports applicable certification of all eligible staff.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education, Training, & Experience:

    • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
    • Training: Pharmacy Residency or Board Certification Preferred.
    • Experience: Several years of pharmacy leadership experience.

    Certifications/Licensure:

    • Active pharmacist license in New York State.
