We are seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer (mid-level) for our client, located onsite (daily) in Leesburg, VA. This position is direct hire/permanent.
Salary: $100-$115k; may be negotiable based on education, experience , geographic locations and other factors

Our client is looking for a driven and technically curious Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about networking, Linux systems, and infrastructure automation and wants to gain hands-on experience in a complex, multi-vendor environment. You''ll work alongside experienced engineers, support enterprise-scale infrastructure, and contribute to projects that improve reliability, performance, and automation across our network ecosystem.
What You''ll Do
Support the deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of network and infrastructure platforms
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices and Linux-based systems in a multi-vendor environment
Partner with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to identify, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure-related issues
Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and asset inventories to support operational excellence
Participate in system patching, upgrades, change management, and validation activities
Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and help optimize reliability and efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network integration and connectivity
Contribute to infrastructure automation initiatives using Ansible and other modern automation tools
Gain exposure to cutting-edge networking, virtualization, and software-defined technologies
What You''ll Bring
Required Qualifications
Foundational knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and architectures
Understanding of routing and switching principles
Experience with Linux system administration, including deployment and configuration
Exposure to enterprise or multi-vendor networking environments (Cisco, Arista, and/or VyOS preferred)
Experience maintaining technical documentation using NetBox or similar platforms
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible
Familiarity with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts
Exposure to monitoring, observability, or logging platforms such as OpenSearch
Experience with virtualization technologies, including Proxmox or similar platforms
Background supporting datacenter or on-premises infrastructure environments
Understanding of configuration management and infrastructure-as-code best practices
