Join Our Team
Folkland Foods is a rapidly growing frozen potato manufacturer producing premium French fries, tater tots, and specialty potato products for customers across the United States. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, and being part of a team that takes pride in producing exceptional food.
This position is unique. While maintenance is the primary responsibility, this role also serves as an Operations Support Associate—helping keep production running smoothly by assisting wherever needed throughout the facility.
Position Summary
The Mid-Shift Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining production equipment, responding to equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting production operations throughout the day.
Because this position bridges production activities and end-of-day operations, it plays a key role in maximizing equipment uptime, preparing equipment for the next production day, and supporting the operations team during peak production hours.
Essential Responsibilities
Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, conveyors, packaging equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and processing equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to scheduled PM programs.
  • Inspect equipment for potential issues before failures occur.
  • Replace bearings, belts, chains, motors, sensors, valves, pneumatic components, and other mechanical parts.
  • Assist with electrical troubleshooting as qualified.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
  • Keep the maintenance shop organized and stocked.
  • Participate in equipment installations and continuous improvement projects.
Operations Support
  • Respond quickly to production downtime and equipment issues.
  • Assist operators with equipment adjustments and changeovers.
  • Help maintain production flow during busy periods.
  • Support sanitation and startup activities when needed.
  • Assist with warehouse or production tasks during periods of low maintenance activity.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and product quality.
Qualifications
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of conveyors, motors, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and packaging equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Forklift or scissor lift experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Work in refrigerated, freezer, and warm production environments.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following all company safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who:
  • Takes ownership of problems until they're solved.
  • Enjoys troubleshooting mechanical challenges.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Has a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Understands that keeping production running is everyone's responsibility.
  • Is dependable and takes pride in quality workmanship.
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Paid time off.
  • Retirement savings plan.
  • Opportunities for advancement as our company continues to grow.
  • A clean, modern food manufacturing facility.
  • The opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-growing company.
If you're looking for a position where no two days are the same, enjoy solving problems, and want to help build one of the fastest-growing frozen food manufacturers in the region, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and become part of the Folkland Foods team.
