Bensenville School District 2 is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Middle School Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in order to promote academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth within an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Description:
The Middle School Special Education Teacher will provide instruction and support services to students with disabilities in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement standards-based instruction aligned to students' IEP goals and accommodations
- Manage and maintain compliance with all special education documentation and timelines
- Monitor student progress and use data to inform instruction and interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to support inclusion and student achievement
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with families regarding student progress
- Create and maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and district initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Previous middle school teaching experience preferred, but not required
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Experience working with diverse learning needs preferred

Salary and Benefits:
Salary and benefits are based on the negotiated teacher contract for the 2026-2027 school year.
