Position Responsibilities
The teacher will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction for students in grades 6-8.
- Teach foundational and advanced middle school math concepts, including number sense, ratios and proportions, expressions and equations, geometry, statistics, probability, and pre-algebra.
- Help students strengthen their problem-solving, critical-thinking, reasoning, and mathematical communication skills.
- Use real-world applications and hands-on learning opportunities to make mathematics meaningful and relevant.
- Incorporate Catholic values and teachings throughout the classroom environment.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
- Use assessment data to adjust instruction and support student growth.
- Maintain a structured, positive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and schoolwide initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, elementary education, middle-level education, or a related field.
- Wisconsin teaching license or eligibility to obtain appropriate licensure.
- Experience teaching mathematics or working with middle school students preferred.
- Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics concepts and instructional practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
