Responsibilities:

  • Understand cabinet construction, millwork manufacturing processes, and the operation of CNC routers, edge banders, and related equipment.
  • Monitor production quality, productivity, and workflow efficiency.
  • Manage employee performance, including hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, and termination as needed.
  • Collect and review employee timecards.
  • Coordinate ordering and availability of plywood, laminate, and other production materials.
  • Ensure employees have the materials, drawings, and instructions needed to complete assigned work.
  • Maintain accurate production records, shop documentation, and operational reports.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and other computer systems for administrative and operational responsibilities.
  • Promote a safe, organized, and productive shop environment.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in millwork, cabinet manufacturing, woodworking production, or shop supervision.
  • Previous experience supervising a production or manufacturing team.
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings, plans, blueprints, and production instructions.
  • Working knowledge of cabinet construction and millwork manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with CNC routers, edge banders, and related woodworking equipment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and production priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage employee performance and maintain accountability across the team.
  • No specific degree or formal education requirement.

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Direct Reports: 20+ employees.
  • Responsible for directing daily activities, managing performance, coordinating staffing needs, and ensuring the team meets production and quality expectations.

Benefits:
  • 401(k): Safe Harbor retirement plan with a 3% company contribution.
  • Health Insurance: Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage. The company pays approximately 75–80% of employee-only coverage under the lowest-level plan.
  • Dental Insurance: Available.
  • Life Insurance: Available.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is an experienced shop leader who understands cabinet and millwork manufacturing and can effectively oversee people, materials, quality, and production schedules. They should be comfortable making operational decisions, resolving production issues, holding employees accountable, and maintaining an efficient, organized shop.
