Mobile Heavy Equipment Diagnostics Technician (Hydraulics & Electrical)

Step into a mission‑driven team as a Mobile Heavy Equipment Diagnostics Technician working remotely in Rochester, NY. You’ll report to the Regional Field Service Manager and be the onsite expert customers count on.

Your impact

Picture this: a truck‑mounted articulating crane is down at a busy job site. You arrive, quickly trace an electrical fault, confirm a hydraulic pressure issue, and return the unit to service. Next, you complete scheduled preventive maintenance and an Annual DOT inspection across a small fleet—closing out clear, complete documentation before you roll to the next call. That’s a snapshot of the difference you’ll make every day.

What you’ll do

• Troubleshoot and repair articulating cranes, truck‑mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers with minimal supervision.
• Perform quarterly PMs, Annual DOT inspections, and warranty service per customer and manufacturer standards.
• Handle emergency and unscheduled repairs during and outside standard business hours.
• Partner with job site and fleet managers to explain issues, options, and timelines.
• Produce timely, accurate service records—estimates, work order authorizations, parts ordering/recording, labor entries, and inventory documentation.
• Follow all applicable state and federal safety requirements; maintain an orderly service vehicle and work areas.

What you bring

• Strength in mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and welding.
• Ability to work in all weather; able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 75lbs+ for extended periods.
• 3 years of mechanical experience or training, ideally with articulating cranes and forklifts.
• English language proficiency.
• CDL driver’s license or willingness to obtain within 60 days of employment.
• Personal tool set (PALFINGER proprietary tools provided).
