Job Title: Mobile Medical Unit Driver
Location: Nashville, TN
Position Type: Full-Time - Exempt
Reports to: Director of Prevention
Compensation: $40,000 - $42,000 Annually

Join Nashville CARES, Middle Tennessee’s leading organization dedicated to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic through prevention, education, compassionate care, and support services. We are seeking a dependable and community-minded Mobile Medical Unit Driver to help bring healthcare directly to underserved communities across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and transport the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to community outreach sites and healthcare events
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain travel/mileage logs
- Support setup and breakdown of mobile clinic operations, outreach events, testing services, and vaccination events
- Assist patients entering and exiting the mobile unit and support clinical flow when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the mobile medical vehicle
- Monitor inventory, restocking needs, and maintenance reporting
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and respond appropriately during emergencies
- Participate in team meetings and organizational trainings
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2–3+ years of commercial, bus, trailer, or large vehicle driving experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable driving large customized mobile units, trailers, Sprinter vans, and maneuvering in tight spaces
- Experience with vehicle upkeep and preventive maintenance
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of HIPAA, infection control, OSHA standards, CPR, or biohazard safety is a plus
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stair climbing
- Ability to drive during daytime and nighttime hours
- Comfortable working in a mobile healthcare environment
