Modeling & Simulation Engineer - Communication & Sensing Systems

Join our small, fast paced team within the Government Space and Emerging Technologies group as the modeling and simulation lead. You will sit at the center of mission analysis and system performance assessment, building the simulation environments that prove out concepts, architectures and algorithms before anything gets built.

What You Will Do

• Build and maintain mission level, system level and subsystem level simulation environments representing communication and sensing system performance
• Lead architecture trade studies using simulation and quantitative analysis to weigh performance, cost, technical risk and operational effectiveness
• Build and run digital twins and representative mission simulations supporting system development, demonstration and customer evaluation
• Run sensitivity analyses, Monte Carlo assessments, uncertainty analyses and performance characterization across realistic operational scenarios
• Guide performance analysis spanning communications, sensing, networking, autonomy and multi domain mission applications
• Support sensing system algorithm development and communication system physical layer development
• Partner with project engineers and technical leads so simulation results feed design decisions, integration planning and risk mitigation
• Support verification and validation through model correlation, simulation based test planning, and predicted versus measured performance comparison
• Deliver technical reports, analysis products, engineering documentation and customer facing briefings

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in modeling, simulation, mission analysis, performance assessment or systems engineering for complex communications, RF, sensing, defense or space systems
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, STK, AFSIM or equivalent modeling frameworks
• Deep expertise developing mission level and system level simulation frameworks and high fidelity link simulations used to support technical decision making
• Proven architecture trade studies, statistical analyses, performance assessments and operational effectiveness studies
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles applied to simulation driven system development
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Active Secret clearance, current or held within the last 2 years, and SAP eligible
• Willingness to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands on work with large data sets, turning analysis results into actionable engineering recommendations
• Strong communication and leadership skills, briefing technical findings to engineering leadership, customers and government stakeholders
• Using generative AI tools to speed up day to day analysis work
