  • Complete mold-building projects within established production timelines and quoted labor hours.

  • Review mold designs for manufacturability and identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Coordinate the procurement of standard mold components, tooling materials, and required supplies.

CNC Machining & Tooling Operations
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines, surface grinders, and Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment.

  • Utilize CAD/CAM data to plan machining operations, optimize sequences, and manufacture precision mold components.

  • Apply Mastercam and 3D CAM software to support mold-building and machining activities.

  • Perform precision finishing, fitting, and assembly of mold shut-off surfaces.

  • Collaborate with tooling engineers to resolve technical challenges and maintain dimensional accuracy.

Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
  • Inspect and document critical mold dimensions according to ISO quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate manufacturing records, tooling documentation, and inspection reports.

  • Apply Six Sigma methodologies when appropriate to identify and eliminate manufacturing inefficiencies.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.

  • Monitor and maintain assigned processes, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Team Collaboration & Training
  • Work independently and collaboratively with manufacturing and engineering teams.

  • Provide guidance and hands-on training to mold-making apprentices.

  • Maintain organized records and documentation throughout mold-building projects.

  • Complete required training and maintain compliance with company procedures.

  • Support additional manufacturing and tooling activities as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience building complex or high-precision plastic injection molds.

  • Familiarity with ISO quality standards and inspection documentation.

  • Understanding of mold shut-off surfaces, critical tolerances, and precision fitting.

  • Experience mentoring or training tooling apprentices.

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Ability to manage multiple tooling projects while maintaining production deadlines.
