Monitoring and Security Specialist (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensure and monitor the general safety of the building and property. Do routine rounds of the facility and monitor for safety concerns. Practice de-escalation and conflict resolution amongst clients and visitors. Able to conduct appropriate outreach to any safety resources and emergency services.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalency. Experience in related field preferred.
• Candidate should have strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills.
• Bilingualism/multilingualism individuals encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Patrol and monitor the premises to discourage illegal activity, reporting activities witnessed to the proper personnel and/or authorities.
• Enforce parking and smoking policies.
• Escorting employees to their vehicles when necessary.
• Review or monitor surveillance cameras or previous camera footage and report as required.
• Report to management team on any incidents that have occurred throughout the day, assisting with completing incident reports when necessary.
• Use provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner.
• Attend staffings as needed to ensure up-to-date information on any possible safety issues that arise.
• Network with security counterparts at adjacent organizations (Prep school, Citizens Bank, 181 Cumberland St) to relay and share information as needed
• Participate in safety meetings and maintain a copy of the building safety binder
