Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform MRI scans on patients as ordered by orthopedic physicians, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging results.
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate MRI equipment, adjusting settings and monitoring equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, explaining the process and ensuring patient understanding and compliance.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring patient safety and adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Assist in identifying and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions or issues.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other team members to ensure accurate diagnosis and care.
- Maintain and clean MRI equipment, ensuring the equipment is in excellent working condition at all times.
- Ensure that all procedures are conducted in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation standards.
Education & Training
- Must be ACR Accredited and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI
- Must be licensed in NYS
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology from an accredited program.
Knowledge & Experience
- Strong knowledge of MRI procedures, protocols, and orthopedic anatomy.
- Ability to operate MRI machines and related technology effectively and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure high-quality imaging results.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, including MRI safety standards, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer software.
- Previous experience in an orthopedic or musculoskeletal practice preferred.
Schedule: 3 days per week, 7:00-3:00pm
Estimated Pay: $45-$50 per hour, commensurate with experience
