Multi-Axis CNC Setup Technician — Mazak Focus

Role snapshot

• Independently set up and operate Mazak 5-axis machining centers for medical components
• Follow setup sheets, tooling docs, and process instructions to complete end-to-end setups
• Load/verify CNC programs, validate tool lengths/locations, and change tools safely
• Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks; monitor finishes and defects
• Adjust tool and wear offsets to hold tight tolerances
• Maintain machines with routine service to ensure peak performance
• Troubleshoot, correct, and prevent process issues
• Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and quality on continuous improvement
• Cut aluminum, stainless, titanium, cobalt chrome, and specialty plastics

Qualifications checklist

• 3+ years of 5-axis CNC experience on Mazak platforms
• Proven independent setup capability using provided documentation
• Strong metrology skills: micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators
• Solid blueprint literacy with expert GD&T comprehension
• Hands-on experience with Integrex and/or Variaxis
• Mazatrol and multi-axis familiarity preferred
• Ability to perform safe tool changes and machine adjustments
