Role snapshot
- Independently set up and operate Mazak 5-axis machining centers for medical components
- Follow setup sheets, tooling docs, and process instructions to complete end-to-end setups
- Load/verify CNC programs, validate tool lengths/locations, and change tools safely
- Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks; monitor finishes and defects
- Adjust tool and wear offsets to hold tight tolerances
- Maintain machines with routine service to ensure peak performance
- Troubleshoot, correct, and prevent process issues
- Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and quality on continuous improvement
- Cut aluminum, stainless, titanium, cobalt chrome, and specialty plastics
Qualifications checklist
- 3+ years of 5-axis CNC experience on Mazak platforms
- Proven independent setup capability using provided documentation
- Strong metrology skills: micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators
- Solid blueprint literacy with expert GD&T comprehension
- Hands-on experience with Integrex and/or Variaxis
- Mazatrol and multi-axis familiarity preferred
- Ability to perform safe tool changes and machine adjustments
