    Description

    Job Description:

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities*:

    • Lead the installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC) systems in multi-family residential new construction projects.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and manufacturer specifications to ensure accurate installations.
    • Install furnaces, air handlers, condensers, ventilation systems, refrigerant lines, ductwork, and related HVAC components.
    • Fabricate and install ductwork and fittings as needed.
    • Perform equipment start-up, testing, and system commissioning to verify proper operation.
    • Troubleshoot installation issues and coordinate necessary corrections to maintain project quality and timelines.
    • Ensure installations meet company standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable building codes.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site while following all company safety policies.
    • Complete installation documentation and project paperwork accurately and on time.
    • Coordinate with supervisors, builders, and other trades to keep projects moving efficiently.
    • Mentor and support less experienced installers by providing guidance and training on job sites.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 3–5+ years of HVAC installation experience in residential new construction or multi-family construction.
    • Previous experience leading installation projects or mentoring crew members preferred.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, installation methods, ductwork fabrication, and system start-up procedures.
    • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
    • Comfortable using tablets, laptops, or mobile devices to complete documentation and communicate with the team.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
    • Willingness to work overtime or occasional weekends as project demands require.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • HVAC trade school certification
    • EPA Certification

    Working Conditions:

    • Majority of work will take place at occupied residential homes and/or construction sites. Minimal time spent in an office environment
    • Travel by vehicle to and from work locations
    • Regularly exposed to construction environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials and odors
    • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift
    • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently
    • Frequently performs tasks requiring climbing, bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching
    • Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work on platforms/scaffolding (using the appropriate fall protection requirements)
    • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective safety vests, gloves and safety toe, construction-grade work boots
    • Must be able to adhere to long periods of standing, walking or sitting
    • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to operate phones or other equipment safely.
    • With natural or corrected vision, able to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception
    • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others 
    • Ability to enter text or data into a hand-held device or computer by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypad
    • Must be able to use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push and pull objects and tools
