full-time Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our news team on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast.Located in Gulfport-Biloxi, one of the Gulf South's premier coastal destinations, you'll enjoy stunning beaches, fresh seafood, world-class entertainment, outdoor recreation, and a vibrant community while building your journalism career.
What You'll Do
- Develop and pitch compelling local news stories
- Shoot, write, edit, and present stories for television, digital, and social platforms
- Conduct engaging live reports from the field
- Build sources and maintain strong community relationships
- Cover breaking news, severe weather, and major community events
- Create content that informs, engages, and impacts our viewers
What We're Looking For- Strong storytelling, writing, and reporting skills
- Ability to shoot and edit video independently
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Experience with social media and digital news platforms
- Ability to work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom
- A valid driver's license and good driving record
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
- Experience with ENPS newsroom computer systems is preferred, but not required
- Experience with non-linear editing systems is preferred. Knowledge of Edius is a plus, but training is available for the right candidate.
A good driving record is a must. We utilize DMV and criminal background checks as a condition of employment.
