Multifamily Plumbing Field Superintendent – Dallas/Fort Worth

Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience

When the DFW skyline lights up, you’re already shaping the day: walking a multifamily site, aligning crews, and confirming deliveries. You translate drawings into action plans, sequence work to hit milestones, and coach foremen so that safety, quality, and productivity move in lockstep. By mid‑morning, you’ve cleared constraints through pull planning, validated earned value against progress, and adjusted manpower to keep critical paths intact. Afternoon brings coordination with Purchasing, QC, and Engineering to ensure inspections and materials support the next phase. You close the day with a focused planning huddle so everyone leaves knowing tomorrow’s goals, constraints, and standards.

Role Overview

Lead and coordinate plumbing construction on multifamily and commercial projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth metro. Oversee one or more trade groups across multiple jobs; set assignments, schedules, and responsibilities; direct field personnel; and ensure that materials and equipment arrive as planned. Serve as the on‑site technical authority while driving safety, craftsmanship, budget adherence, and schedule performance.

What You’ll Do

• Provide hands‑on field leadership and technical guidance, enforcing safe, high‑quality construction practices.
• Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports through timely and substantive performance conversations.
• Sequence and resequence activities to meet schedule commitments, applying knowledge of crews, tools, and equipment capacity.
• Validate earned value and confirm the accuracy of percent‑complete forecasts.
• Inspect ongoing and finished work to verify compliance with plans and specifications.
• Perform safety observations, identify hazards, and remove risks to prevent incidents and reduce severity.
• Implement Quality and LEAN methods (pull planning, six‑week look‑aheads, value stream mapping, and constraint logs).
• Estimate labor hours against schedule and budget; develop material takeoffs, estimates, and pricing for scope changes.
• Troubleshoot productivity gaps, interfaces, and manpower needs; escalate potential conflicts, interferences, or schedule risks to senior supervision and project management.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering, and other teams so materials, equipment, and inspections align with craft activities and schedule.
• Lead pre‑job and planning meetings to clarify contract terms, schedules, and unique project requirements for the full team.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of relevant construction management experience.
• Advanced understanding of construction management processes, means, and methods.
• Expertise in building systems, construction details, and applicable codes, regulations, and quality standards.
• Fluency in reading and interpreting blueprints, coordination/BIM drawings, submittals, specifications, details, and work orders.
• Ability to see the whole build—plan comprehensively and connect field execution to the big picture.
• Proven leadership, time management, and project management capability.
• Skilled in conflict resolution and crisis management.
• All licenses and certifications required for this role.
• Bachelor’s in Construction Science, Building Science, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Construction Superintendent certification preferred.
• Multifamily project experience preferred.
