Superintendent Opportunity
An established and growing general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the field execution of a ground-up affordable housing development in Chattanooga, TN. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with a strong multifamily background who is looking for long-term career growth and the opportunity to work on projects across multiple states. Following the successful delivery of the initial project, there will be opportunities to support future developments in Texas, Florida, Massachusetts, and other locations nationwide.
Job Description
- Direct daily on-site construction activities for multifamily, affordable housing, and mixed-use projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, and work sequencing to keep construction work on schedule.
- Review project plans and specifications with field teams to guide accurate installation and construction.
- Monitor site progress and address field issues that could affect schedules, quality, or project delivery.
- Maintain a safe job site by reinforcing site safety practices with contractors and visitors.
- Track completed work and communicate project updates, needs, and schedule changes to the construction team.
- Coordinate inspections and prepare work areas for required project reviews.
- Travel to future project locations as business needs require.
The Successful Applicant
- Proven experience as a Superintendent on ground-up multifamily projects
- Affordable housing project experience strongly preferred
- Experience with mixed-use multifamily developments will also be considered
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field operations
- Ability to lead site teams while maintaining a collaborative approach
- Local Tennessee experience is highly desirable
- Willingness to travel nationally for future project assignments
