The YCS George Washington School in Hackensack is currently hiring a Music Teacher. GWS is a Department of Education-approved private school for classified students with behavioral, emotional, and social challenges. We have been successfully educating students ages 5-15, grades K-9, for over 30 years.
Duties Include:
- Provide quality music instruction for students in accordance with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards.
- Develop and implement engaging music lessons that support students' educational, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Plan curriculum and instructional materials tailored to individual student abilities and learning styles.
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, and participation through music education activities.
- Maintain classroom structure and promote a positive learning environment.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- New Jersey Teaching Certificate with appropriate Music endorsement/certification
- Experience working with students with behavioral, emotional, or social challenges preferred

Youth Consultation Service Inc
Each day YCS provides services to thousands of New Jersey families who have children, birth – adulthood, with special needs. Some of the children at our group homes are separated from their loved ones and have been affected by trauma, others are affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities that adversely affect their behavior. Many families receive the intensive in-home and community support that enables their families to stay together. Whatever the need, the caring YCS staff is prepared to offer individualized educational, mental health and/or behavioral health programming.
