The High School Music Teacher is responsible for fostering a love for music, developing musical skills, and nurturing creativity among high school students. This role involves designing and delivering music lessons, directing musical ensembles, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate fosters a positive and engaging music learning experience that promotes student understanding and proficiency utilizing a standards-aligned curriculum. Requirements
Required
- Knowledge of general learning and child development concepts, theories and fundamentals.
- Strong commitment to, belief in, and alignment with mission and vision of the school.
- Bachelor's degree in Education.
- Licensed to teach in the state of WI.
- Prior experience as a Teacher (highly recommended).
- Capacity to supervise group work.
- Outstanding planning, conflict resolution techniques, problem-solving skills.
- Assess student projects with their skill level and style in mind.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of mobility through a large campus, and at times prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday.
Other Requirements
- The job may require occasional evening or weekend hours for family engagement events and meetings.

- Create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to diverse musical interests and abilities.
- Deliver dynamic and interactive music lessons using a variety of teaching methods, including practical exercises, music technology, and traditional instruction.
- Instruct students in vocal and instrumental techniques, music notation, and ensemble performance.
Ensemble Direction
- Direct and oversee high school musical ensembles such as choirs, orchestras, bands, or jazz bands.
- Plan and coordinate rehearsals, performances, and other musical events.
Individualized Support
- Provide individualized support to students, offering guidance and feedback on their musical development.
- Offer additional assistance to students who may need extra support in mastering musical concepts.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Develop and implement assessments to measure student progress in musical skills, understanding, and performance.
- Provide constructive feedback on individual and ensemble performances.
Music Theory and History
- Teach music theory and history to enhance students'' understanding of the cultural and theoretical aspects of music.
- Incorporate both classical and contemporary musical styles into the curriculum.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages musical exploration and collaboration.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a focused and productive learning atmosphere.
Technology Integration
- Integrate technology into music instruction, incorporating music software, digital recording tools, and multimedia resources.

Concerts and Performances
- Organize and direct concerts, recitals, and other performances to showcase students'' musical talents.

Community Engagement
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and the local community to promote the importance of music education.
- Organize or participate in community music events, workshops, or partnerships.
Professional Development
