Narcotics Pharmacist Supervisor

Responsibilities Oversee the safe and accurate distribution narcotic medications to facilitiesManage workflow responsibilities with the Pharmacist In ChargeEvaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administrationSupervise dispensed medicines are correctly supplied and labeledMaintain inventory control systems for narcotics, to ensure all controlled substances are tracked, accounted for and stored appropriatelyOversee the ordering of controlled substancesEducate, train and document training for all technicians authorized to work in the control roomEnsure security features of the control room are being adhered to and make changes, as neededReporting of all controlled substance theft/loss or major discrepancies to appropriate regulatory authorities and internal management (PIC, Compliance Offer, HR, Operations, etc.)Conduct regular audits of narcotic inventory to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions, as neededInvestigate and resolve medication-related queriesMaintain customer's database to include medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.Communicate with facilities' nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queriesResponsible for creating the schedule for department, and ensuring proper shift coveragePerform "on-call" duties when requiredComplete any task assigned by the Pharmacist In Charge Qualifications Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Texas requiredLong Term Care experience preferredPrevious experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fieldsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detailStrong organizational skillsComputer skillsFramework / ECM software knowledge a plus Shift AM Shift with rotating weekends and holidays Company Benefits Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401K Retirement PlanPaid Time OffEmployee Assistance Program EEO Statement, SpecialtyRx, Inc. is fully committed to employing a diverse workforce.
