Navision Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Navision Specialist with deep expertise in both NAV 2009 and NAV 2018 to join our IT/ERP team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, including experience with system upgrades, data migrations, and customization. This role will also include responsibility for training and mentoring junior engineers on the use of NAV 2018.

Key Responsibilities:

• NAV 2009 and NAV 2018 Expertise:
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for NAV 2009 and NAV 2018 environments.
  • Manage and oversee the transition from NAV 2009 to NAV 2018, including data migration, system configuration, and testing.
  • Customize and configure NAV 2018 to meet business requirements, including the development of new features and modifications to existing functionality.
• Training and Mentoring:
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for junior engineers on NAV 2018, including hands-on workshops, documentation, and ongoing support.
  • Mentor junior engineers in best practices for NAV development, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain training materials, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for NAV 2018.
• System Maintenance and Support:
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply necessary updates or patches to maintain the stability and security of NAV environments.
  • Work closely with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of NAV 2018 with other enterprise systems and third-party applications.
  • Support end-users by resolving issues related to NAV 2009 and NAV 2018, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Project Management:
  • Lead or contribute to ERP-related projects, including the implementation of new modules, system upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and manage project timelines.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Document system configurations, customizations, and procedures for both NAV 2009 and NAV 2018.
  • Generate reports and dashboards as needed to support business operations and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, with strong expertise in both NAV 2009 and NAV 2018.
  • Proven experience in data migration, system upgrades, and customization within NAV environments.
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior engineers or IT staff.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in C/AL (C/SIDE) development, and familiarity with AL language in Business Central (NAV 2018).
  • Strong understanding of ERP workflows, financial processes, inventory management, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Certifications:
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV certifications are highly desirable.
