Nondestructive Test Inspector – Level I The Level 1 Nondestructive Test Inspector is responsible for the processing of aerospace components through Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle and Nital Etch processes. An NDT Level I should be qualified to properly perform specific calibrations, specific NDT and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and to record results. The NDT Level I should receive the necessary instruction and supervision from a certified NDT Level II or III individual. Responsibilities: - Perform FPI, MPI and Nital Etch processing in accordance with internal and customer specifications.
- Perform all NDT daily, weekly and monthly tasks in accordance to established procedures.
- Review and acceptance of Travelers to assure all sign-offs are complete and revision levels are to Operation Book Requirements.
- Assist with internal auditing of special process areas to assure conformance to requirements.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Working Environment. Assess current working conditions and recommend improved methods to assure safe working environment.
- Perform job tasks as they are assigned with little to no supervision.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
- Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement.
- Frequent twisting, stooping and bending.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to meet visual acuity requirements (color and near vision - corrected or uncorrected).
Unusual Environmental Conditions: - Loud machining environment; exposure to aerospace metals, lubricants, and NDI chemicals.
- Required Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety glasses/shields, appropriate manufacturing closed toed footwear, hearing protection, respirators, gloves and protective clothing may be required along with other protective equipment as needed.
Qualifications: - US Citizenship
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Level 1 certification required
- 1+ years of Aerospace NDT Process Experience in FPI and MPI.
- Nital Etch Experience desired.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid problem solving skills.
