We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our Level III NICU team in Shreveport, LA. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly collaborative group of neonatal providers dedicated to delivering exceptional care to critically ill and premature newborns.
The ideal candidate will have prior NICU experience and be comfortable managing high-acuity neonatal patients in both independent and team-based settings. This role includes a rotating schedule of days, nights, and weekends, providing comprehensive coverage for the NICU service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced neonatal care for patients in a Level III NICU
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill and premature newborns
Participate in delivery attendance, including high-risk deliveries and C-sections
Perform neonatal assessments, stabilization, and ongoing management
Collaborate closely with neonatologists and multidisciplinary care teams
Respond to urgent and emergent neonatal situations
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
Provide education and support to families throughout the NICU stay
Qualifications
Current licensure as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
National certification as an NNP
Previous NICU experience required
Candidates with prior NICU nursing experience may be considered depending on overall background and training
Strong clinical judgment and ability to function independently in high-acuity situations
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
