Network Administrator

Our client, a manufacturing company based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to manage and maintain its corporate network infrastructure. This role supports both office and plant-floor connectivity across a multi-site operation, ensuring reliable uptime for production and business systems.

The Network Administrator will handle day-to-day network operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing upgrades to switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points. This position works closely with the IT team and external vendors to plan capacity, maintain security standards, and support new equipment rollouts as the company expands its manufacturing lines.

This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the IT Manager. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and is comfortable balancing planned projects with urgent troubleshooting needs.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure
• Monitor network performance and respond to outages or degraded service
• Configure and maintain switches, routers, and firewalls
• Manage network security tools including VPNs and access controls
• Coordinate with vendors on hardware procurement and support contracts
• Document network topology, configurations, and change history
• Support disaster recovery and backup procedures for network systems
• Assist with onboarding new plant equipment requiring network connectivity

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology or related field
• 3 or more years of experience administering enterprise networks
• Working knowledge of Cisco or similar networking hardware
• Experience with firewall configuration and network security practices
• Familiarity with Active Directory and Windows Server environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills under time-sensitive conditions
• Ability to work on-site and occasionally respond after hours
• CompTIA Network+ or CCNA certification preferred
