TITLE: Network Administrator V-99-33

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate degree or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, electronic engineering, computer engineering, or a related field, or a combination of education, certifications, and equivalent work experience.

  2. Two years of experience with networking concepts including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, wireless networking, switches, routers, and network troubleshooting.

  3. Two years of experience with Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, or related infrastructure services.

  4. Two years of experience with virtualization concepts such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.

  5. Two years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting Windows computers, Apple computers, iPads, printers, and other endpoint devices.

  6. Experience with educational technology platforms such as PowerSchool, ClassLink, Clever, OneRoster synchronization, rostering systems, or other student and staff identity management platforms is desirable.

  7. Two years of experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar cloud productivity platforms.

  8. Two years of experience supporting mobile device management (MDM) platforms such as Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, or similar endpoint management solutions.

  9. Two years of experience installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and updating Voice over IP (VoIP) and telecommunications infrastructure, including Mitel systems, servers, phones, voicemail, user provisioning, software updates, and related equipment.

  10. Two years of experience to identity and access management concepts including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, single sign-on (SSO), multifactor authentication (MFA), and user account administration.

  11. Experience applying cybersecurity principles, including endpoint protection, password security, web filtering, phishing awareness, and secure computing practices.

  12. Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and user support issues while following established procedures.

  13. Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple assignments, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

  14. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, staff, vendors, and coworkers, both orally and in writing.

  15. Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing technology environments.

  16. Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely perform assigned duties, including lifting computer equipment and traveling between district sites.

  17. Highly desirable: Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft, Jamf, or other relevant technology certifications.

  18. Must have a valid driver's license.

REPORTS TO: Director of Instructional Technology & Information Services

JOB GOAL: To assist in the operation, maintenance, and support of the District's technology infrastructure and information systems while providing reliable technical support to students and staff under the direction of senior technology personnel.

PERFORANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide first- and second-level technical support for district hardware, software, and technology services.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows computers, Apple computers, iPads, printers, and related peripheral devices.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure including switches, wireless access points, cabling, and related equipment.
  • Administration and support of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related infrastructure services.
  • Administration and maintenance of virtualization platforms and virtual servers.
  • User account creation, password resets, permissions, and other identity management tasks within Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
  • Administration and support of educational technology platforms including PowerSchool, ClassLink, Clever, OneRoster synchronization, identity integrations, and related student and staff access systems.
  • Deploy and manage devices using Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, or other MDM platforms.
  • Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades, imaging, and device deployment.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, printing, wireless access, and application issues.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, asset tracking, documentation, and service tickets.
  • Maintain and verify backups, routine system maintenance, assist with disaster recovery procedures.
  • Work with vendors and senior technology staff to resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Travel to district schools and village sites to install, maintain, and repair technology equipment.
  • Follow district technology standards, cybersecurity practices, and established procedures.
  • Continue developing technical skills through training, certification, and professional development opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the NWABSD Board of Education.

(Fulltime, 7.5 hours per day, 261 days per year)
