ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards. Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization. Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Reporting network operational status by gathering prioritizing information; managing projects. Tracking Budget Expenses, Project Management, Problem Solving, LAN Knowledge, Proxy Servers, Networking Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning, People Management

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Will receive escalations from Network Administrators or "Provide tier-3 network support".
• Will assist in training and coaching of Network Administrators.
• Successful candidates will be administering Local Area Networks (LAN) and Secure Internet Protocol Networks (SIPRNET) equipment such as TACLANES and IPSEC Tunnels.
• Job includes implementing new network operating systems, hardware and software, developing Wide Area Network (WAN) operating procedures, configuring, installing and maintaining network systems to include the LAN/WAN.
• Professional level certifications desirable, such as: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent, Juniper Networks Certified Internetwork Professional (JNCIP), or equivalent, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PNCSE), or equivalent.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule due to operational support requirements.
