Title: Network Engineer – Consultant (11661)

Important Notes for Recruiters:
Candidates must currently reside in SC, NC, or GA and must be willing to relocate within 40 miles of Blythewood, SC before the start date at their own expense. This is a fully onsite role with no remote work option. Candidate must have a valid driver's license, as travel to SCDMV HQ and field offices may be required during business hours using a state vehicle. Candidates previously submitted to Posting 11029 cannot be resubmitted.

Key Responsibilities:
• Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure and networking products.
• Troubleshoot network failures, identify root causes, and resolve complex network issues.
• Support network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and ongoing administration.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem-resolution support across the enterprise network.
• Monitor network performance and ensure secure, reliable connectivity across SCDMV locations.
• Support technologies including Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix.
• Review and support cybersecurity best practices, security compliance, and version compliance.
• Work in a fast-paced, multi-team environment while supporting multiple priorities.
• Provide knowledge transfer and informal technical guidance to peers when needed.
• Support after-hours or weekend outage response on an as-needed basis.
Required Skills:
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Firewalls.
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Routers.
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Switches.
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN.
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Administration.
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
Preferred Skills:
• 10+ years of experience with monitoring and tracing tools.
• 10+ years of experience with core network architecture.
• 10+ years of experience with advanced troubleshooting, routing, and switching.
• 4+ years of experience with wireless networks.
• 3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• CCNA and/or CCNP certification preferred.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree required, or four additional years of relevant experience in addition to the required years of experience.
