Title: Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician
Type: Onsite (Candidates must reside within a 30-minute commute of Allen, TX)
Location: 415 E. Exchange Parkway, Allen, TX 75002
Pay: $26–$27.86/hr on W2
Duration: 3 months, potential contract to hire based on performance. Contract can also extend.
Work Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday, 2:00 PM–12:30 AM CST
Clearance: Candidate must be a US person and able to pass a CJIS background screening.
Job Description
- Monitor network infrastructure, telecommunications systems, and 9-1-1 call-handling systems for performance, availability, and service disruptions.
- Troubleshoot IP network connectivity, routers, switches, servers, and endpoint hardware.
- Respond to network alerts, investigate outages, and resolve incidents within established SLA timelines.
- Perform network surveillance, performance checks, incident triage, and remote/cloud operations monitoring.
- Support network outage resolution and coordinate technical escalations with field technicians and network engineers.
- Manage incidents, changes, problems, and vendor tickets using ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools.
- Interpret network diagrams and maintain incident, outage, and quality control documentation.
- Support network operations in a 24/7 NOC or telecommunications environment.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of network troubleshooting experience is required that includes experience troubleshooting IP network connectivity.
- 1+ year of experience troubleshooting routers, switches, servers, and endpoints is required.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking and interoperability standards is needed.
- Hands-on experience with VPN, BGP, MPLS, and SIP protocols expected.
- Should possess the ability to interpret network diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar tools.
- Experience with network monitoring, incident triage, and outage response is preferred.
- Ability to meet CJIS background screening requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC), telecommunications, or 24/7 call center environment is a plus but training will be provided.
- Experience with ServiceNow Incident, Change, and Problem Management or similar ticketing systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud surveillance and remote network monitoring a plus.
- CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCST, or CCNA certification or ITIL certification are nice to have.
