Network Security- Checkpoint

Summary of Position:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer specializing in firewalls with expertise in Checkpoint technologies to join our dynamic team. As a Network Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing our network security infrastructure. Your in-depth knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls and related technologies will be pivotal in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our organization's network resources.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Checkpoint firewall solutions to safeguard the organization's network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design effective firewall policies that align with security best practices and business needs.
• Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches, analyzing and mitigating threats in real-time.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex firewall-related issues, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize network downtime.

• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary measures to enhance the security posture of the network.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and new technologies related to network security and firewalls, and make recommendations for improvements to existing infrastructure.
• Work closely with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of firewall solutions with other network components and systems.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of firewall technologies.
• Document network configurations, processes, and procedures, maintaining accurate records for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Technology/Area of Specialization:

• Proficient in configuring and managing Checkpoint firewall appliances and software, including Checkpoint Management Server, Security Gateway, and SmartConsole.
• In-depth knowledge of network security concepts, including VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control lists.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring and analysis tools for detecting and responding to security incidents.
• Familiarity with industry compliance standards and regulations related to network security (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Ability to analyze and interpret network traffic patterns to identify potential security threats.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices and risk management principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Professional certifications such as Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or Checkpoint Certified Security Expert (CCSE) are highly desirable.
• 3+ Years of proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing network security solutions, with a focus on Checkpoint firewalls.
• A track record of successfully resolving complex technical issues and implementing innovative solutions.
