Neurology Veterinary Technician to join our expanding specialty team.

board-certified veterinary neurologist to care for patients with complex neurologic conditions—from initial evaluation and advanced diagnostics through treatment, surgery, hospitalization, rehabilitation, and recovery.

Now Hiring: Neurology Veterinary Technician
We are building a new
Neurology Service at our Jacksonville hospital, and this is an exciting opportunity to help establish the service from the very beginning.
Our Neurology Technician will be an essential partner to our neurologist, helping coordinate patient care, diagnostics, procedures, hospitalization, and communication while contributing to the development of workflows and standards for this new specialty service.
For the right technician, this is more than another position—it's an opportunity to
grow alongside a brand-new Neurology service and help shape how that service develops at AVS.
Work Alongside a Board-Certified Veterinary Neurologist
One of the most exciting aspects of this position is the opportunity to
work directly alongside a board-certified veterinary neurologist while developing advanced skills in Neurology and Neurosurgery.
You'll have opportunities to gain experience in areas including:
- Neurologic patient assessments and examinations
- Advanced neurologic patient nursing
- Seizure patient management and monitoring
- Spinal cord and brain disease management
- Advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT and MRI
- Anesthesia and monitoring for advanced imaging
- Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) collection and processing
- Pre-operative neurologic patient preparation
- Assisting with advanced neurologic and neurosurgical procedures
- Post-operative neurosurgical recovery and monitoring
- Pain management and patient comfort
- Mobility assistance and specialized nursing care
- IV catheter placement and medication administration
- Hospitalized neurologic patient management
- Client education and discharge instructions
- Collaboration with Emergency, Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and other specialty services

We're Looking for a Technician Who Is:
Experienced in veterinary patient care and excited about the opportunity to develop advanced skills within
Neurology and Neurosurgery.
Previous experience in neurology is certainly valuable, but we also want to hear from experienced technicians coming from
Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, or another specialty environment who have a strong interest in learning Neurology.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is
compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented, clinically curious, eager to learn, and passionate about providing exceptional patient care.
