    Job Description

    We are seeking a New Truck Sales Representative to be responsible for soliciting new truck sales business within an assigned territory, customarily and regularly meeting with customers in person and away from the assigned work location or dealership.

    Responsibilities

    • Self-generate prospective customers and new business opportunities while developing relationships with both new and existing customers
    • Manage assigned key accounts within or outside the marketplace
    • Develop and manage retail accounts within or outside the marketplace
    • Maintain relationships throughout the assigned territory and make personal sales calls at customer locations to maximize sales opportunities. New Truck Sales Representatives are expected to spend at least three full business days per week in the field meeting with customers and prospects
    • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of sales opportunities by regularly spending time outside the office making sales calls, prospecting for new customers, and following up on generated quotes
    • Coordinate service work, including PDI, customer-requested add-ons, modifications, and repairs, with the Service Department. A purchase order or other appropriate authorization must be obtained before customer-authorized work is performed
    • Coordinate with the Finance Department by providing accurate information and paperwork necessary to assist customers with financing and related services
    • Identify opportunities to sell tailers, extended warranties and other products and services offered by Jackson Group Peterbilt
    • Take the initiative to understand each customer's overall business and transportation need and provide solutions that support their operation
    • New Truck Sales Representatives should consistently work toward established sales and performance goals. Experienced representatives should target an average of 3–5 trucks sold per month

    Education and/or Experience

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • One year of related sales experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must have a valid driver's license and meet company requirements for operating company vehicles

    Skills and Abilities Required

    • Regular vehicle travel throughout the assigned territory
    • Meet established account management, productivity, sales activity, and performance expectations
    • Complete all required company and manufacturer training
    • Conduct business ethically and professionally, maintaining a favorable impression of both the sales representative and Jackson Group Peterbilt
    • Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety procedures and requirements
    • Maintain an orderly and professional work area
    • Maintain current knowledge of Peterbilt products, truck specifications, available options, vocational applications, and competitive products
    • Properly complete all paperwork associated with new truck sales transactions.
    • Obtain Sales Manager approval on all truck deals as required
    • Promote and support a complete package approach by representing the full range of products and services available through Jackson Group Peterbilt, including Parts, Service, Body Shop, New Trucks, and Used Trucks
    • Follow departmental procedures and utilize available company systems and tools when completing truck sales paperwork and managing customer relationships
