NICU Registered Nurse Night Shift | Covington, LA

What Youll Do
- Attend vaginal and cesarean deliveries and assist with newborn transition.
- Admit, care for, and discharge neonates in the NICU and normal newborn unit.
- Coordinate care with neonatal providers, nurses, respiratory therapy, radiology, occupational therapy, social services, and other members of the care team.
- Educate and update parents while providing compassionate support, including assistance with breastfeeding.
- Place neonatal IVs, draw labs, administer medications, and provide blood transfusions.
- Manage ventilators and central lines and administer oxygen and nitric oxide as indicated.
- Assist with procedures and diagnostics, including chest tube, PICC, UAC, and UVC placement; imaging; blood gases; EEGs; echocardiograms; intubation; and exchange transfusions.
What You Need
Required:- Current registered nurse license applicable to the assignment
- BLS and NRP certifications
- At least 3 years of nursing experience
- Experienced Level III NICU nurse
- Delivery attendance experience
- Epic experience
- Neonatal IV placement, lab draws, medication administration, ventilator, central-line, and blood-administration experience
- Ability to float to the normal newborn unit and support appropriate patient assignments
- Availability for every other weekend and required holidays
